About the store
I have been teaching 5th grade for 3 years and have been able to learn so much along my journey so far. As I continue my career in education, I have been able to gain so many insights into teaching that would have helped me so much throughout my student teaching and to prepare me for my first teaching job. I also have experience as a water polo coach and an art teacher, so the content I create not only meets educational standards, but is able to reach students who are visual hands-on learners and those who need to move their body as they work throughout the day.

About the store

Experience

I have been teaching 5th grade for 3 years and have been able to learn so much along my journey so far. As I continue my career in education, I have been able to gain so many insights into teaching that would have helped me so much throughout my student teaching and to prepare me for my first teaching job. I also have experience as a water polo coach and an art teacher, so the content I create not only meets educational standards, but is able to reach students who are visual hands-on learners and those who need to move their body as they work throughout the day.

Teaching style

My teaching style is best describes as choice-based and student-centered learning. With the increase in digital stimulation and shortened attention spans, teaching has needed to be much more flexible than ever before. Traditional teacher led instruction no longer reaches the needs of the majority of students, so by teaching based on the multiple intelligences and adding centers and cooperative activities into the classroom, we will be able to reach students who have felt defeated or bored by school in the past.

My own education history

I earned my Bachelors in Elementary Education from NAU in 2021 and am published in the International Journal of the Whole Child - Volume 2021 No. 6 (2).

Additional biographical information

The research behind my teaching philosophy and strategies can be explored further in my article published in the International Journal of the Whole Child: https://libjournals.mtsu.edu/index.php/ijwc/issue/view/187/107
