I have been through many of the lower grades. 1st and 2nd are my absolute favorites, but I also have a soft spot for 4th! I absolutely LOVE teaching. I couldn't ever imagine doing anything else. Reading is a passion of mine, and I am currently going back to grade school to get my reading specialist certificate.

Subtraction Sentences (Ocean Theme)
This is a google slides activity. The students will be practicing subtraction. They will look at the objects on each page. They will then look to see how many are being taken away. With this information they will create a subtraction sentence by dragging and dropping the correct numbers in the empty boxes.

2-Digit Addition: Using Models
Your students will be able to practice adding 2 digit numbers using models (quick tens) They will read the problem, look at the quick tens to help them add it all together, then use the epic pen to write the answer in the box.

Hopping Down the Number Line (Make Ten)
Your students will be able to practice making 10 by filling in the missing number in the number sentence. They will need to use the bunny and hop the number line to find the answer. Then they will click and drag the correct number into the empty box.

This is a google slides activity. Your students will be practicing adding 3 numbers together. The goal is to get them to add 2 numbers together first to either make a ten or to add the doubles together. There will be a work page for each problem that you can have them do on the smart board.

These are google slides. They are interactive to help students learn how to use models to take away with subtraction. You can either use the snowman at the bottom and the red X or you can use counting blocks at their desks!

This is a simple google drive activity where students can use the slides combined with counting blocks at their desks. The teacher will need to project each slide up on the board and have the students use their counting blocks to solve the addition problem first. Experience

Teaching style
I want the environment of my classroom to be one where students are excited to come to each and every day. I want them to feel safe, and know that their classroom is a place where they can express themselves. With the being said, I am a stickler for behavior. My students learn that right off the bat. I love rewarding good behavior. FUN is my middle name, and I put that word into as much of my activities as possible.

I graduated with honors in undergrad, and will hopefully be doing even more for grad school!
My own education history
I graduated high school in 2007. I attended the University of Pitt at Johnstown Campus. College was the most amazing time of my life. I loved every minute of it. Th education program was wonderful. I was able to do 4 Field placements and 3 different student teaching experiences. I graduated college in 2011. I am now currently going back to grad school for reading at Edinboro.
Additional biographical information
I just recently got engaged and am in the process of planning my wedding. Its all so excited, and I am very excited for it to get here! I live in Pittsburgh, and am currently working at a public school there.
