Creating Key Concepts

In this hands on lab, students begin to think about the characteristics of rocks. How should they be organized? Why put them into the groups they do? What do the rocks feel like? This lab is designed for young learners between Kindergarten and 4th grade. Put in Microsoft Word so you can add or remove items as you see fit for your classroom. Enjoy!

I wanted to create a common reading log for my students in my self-contained classroom who are all at different levels to use. The original idea behind this is to keep a reading log for students to read a minimum of 5 books a week and focus on sight words and answering questions relating to common core standards.
