This slideshow is designed to help students learn to subitize their tens then mentally add numbers less than nine to make a quantity visually. With practice, they would see three golden tens and a green two bar and be able to say "32". The extension work after this exercise would have a student build quantities using the tens board.

This slideshow is designed to test Lower Elementary students ability to add a golden bead to a colored bead to create "teens". Students would either answer aloud (the control of error is the slide that follows, revealing the answer) or write their answer on a whiteboard.
