Do you need a classroom economy system or a way to practice using place value? This monkey themed money is just what you need! Money comes in denominations of 1; 10; 100; 1,000; 10,000; 100,000; 1,000,000. I use this money in my calendar math center in the daily depositor to help reinforce place value concepts, but it can be used for lots of other activities also! This group project has students build numbers with manipulatives and then write the 3 forms of the number: word form, standard form, and expanded form. Students then walk around to the other groups and record the numbers they have built. Extension activities allow for numbers to be sorted least to greatest and to be used in writing inequalities.
