Have students cut out these notes and glue in to their math journal when learning about rounding. Includes fill-in the blanks with simple vocabulary and steps for rounding a number. Also includes a cute picture to help concrete students visualize which numbers "rest" and which numbers "raise the score." Answer key included. These three problems allow for students to construct their own answer and then justify the solution. The questions are based off facts about the human body system: respiratory, digestive, and circulatory. The math word problems require students to round to the nearest ten, repeated addition or multiplication, and subtraction.

This project was the performance task we used at the end of our first nine weeks in 4th grade to assess students on several components: informational writing, human body systems, labels, place value, prime, composite, factors, multiples, patterns, word problems, creative writing. Students are given a lot of choice in this task. Once the pages are completed, they are glued into the "little book." This becomes a great piece to show at parent-teacher conferences since it encompasses so many differe

This scavenger hunt uses cute fall and Halloween themed cards to review concepts such as multiplication, division, comparisons, unit conversions, basic operations, and place value. Laminate the cards, hide them around the room, and let students use their answer sheets to record their answers to the questions. Great active review of beginning of the year concepts. In this game, students either work by themselves or with a group to sort the frogs onto the correct lily pad by either rounding to the nearest ten, hundred, or thousand. Game includes color board which can printed and glued into a file folder and then laminated, 12 game cards, student recording page, and an answer sheet.

These division cards have a cute ocean theme and cover simple remainders all the way to 4 digit dividends. There are 4 levels of cards with approximately 9 cards for each level.
