Experience

I am a Digital Video Technology and Media Studies teacher with a unique K–12 teaching background. Before transitioning to high school CTE, I taught Kindergarten for 10 years and First Grade for 4 years, where I developed strong skills in scaffolding instruction, clear explanations, and differentiated learning. I now teach at the high school level, focusing on Digital Video Technology, media production, and Adobe Certified Professional (ACP) preparation. This experience allows me to design resources that are: -Clearly structured -Student-friendly -Easy to implement -Effective for a wide range of learners Every resource in this store is classroom-tested and built to support both teacher confidence and student understanding.

Teaching style

My teaching style is clear, structured, and hands-on. I focus on helping students understand why technical choices matter, not just how to click buttons. Lessons emphasize: -Industry terminology -Real production scenarios -Problem-solving and decision-making -Professional expectations I design resources to be: -Student-friendly -Low-prep for teachers -Flexible for block or traditional schedules -Easy to use for substitute teachers My goal is to help students think like media professionals, not just software users.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I have had the opportunity to support students in earning Adobe Certified Professional certifications and participating in film festivals, media competitions, and broadcast projects. Some of my favorite teaching moments include: -Watching students gain confidence using professional media vocabulary -Seeing students successfully complete certification exams -Guiding student teams through collaborative video and broadcast projects -Helping students discover career pathways in media, film, and communications I believe strong preparation and clear instruction open doors for students beyond the classroom.

My own education history

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education (K–6) and am certified in Digital Video Technology. This background allows me to combine strong instructional design and pedagogy with technical media production skills. My training in elementary education supports how I break down complex concepts into clear, student-friendly explanations, while my Digital Video Technology certification ensures lessons are accurate, industry-aligned, and relevant to real-world media production and certification exams. This dual background shapes my approach to creating resources that are well-structured, accessible, and effective for a wide range of learners.

Additional biographical information

In addition to teaching, I am a creative maker and designer, with interests in visual storytelling, design thinking, and hands-on creative work. This creative background strongly influences how I approach media education—valuing craftsmanship, intentional choices, and clarity of communication. I am passionate about helping teachers save time while delivering meaningful, skills-based instruction that prepares students for both certifications and real-world creative work.
