Blueprints Project: Finding Area and Perimeter
Looking for a project for your math class? This simple project allows the students to use creativity while reinforcing the procedures to find area and perimeter.
Basically the project has students create their dream home on graph paper and then find the area and perimeter of each room. There are a few follow up questions involving carpeting and costs. A rubric is attached.

My ultimate goal is to make math easy and applicable to students of any level. I try to take difficult concepts and break them down into smaller parts. I use creative lessons and notes in order to keep the attention of my students.
