This Journeys vocabulary packet can be used several ways. The words are divided up into approximately 4 nine weeks sets. I send home a binded copy home at the beginning of the year so parents know what vocabulary words their children are required to know by the end of the year. I also keep a few extras handy for conferences when parents ask what they can do to help their child at home. Parents can use the checklist to see what words their child knows and cut out the cards for practice.

I use these worksheets to review drawing a place value picture of numbers up to 99. Students are given the number in standard form and they draw a picture of place value blocks and write the number in words. I like to use this activity in the computer lab with my students. They can draw their picture using the drawing tools on Word and type the number words, but it can also be used with a pencil and paper. Story maps also cover author's purpose, characters, and setting. This product contains 3 levels of nonfiction and 3 level of fiction story maps, depending on your students needs and grade level.

This product contains one worksheet for each Journeys lesson (30). Each worksheet allows students to practice putting words in alphabetical order and practice their spelling words. The worksheet has an alphabet line to aid students as they complete the activity. I have used these worksheets as homework assignments, but they can be used in class.
