A Number Talk is a whole group activity that takes 5-10 minutes. It can be done at the beginning of the math lesson or the end of the lesson. The purpose of a Number Talk is to help students develop computational fluency and number sense. During a Number Talk, the teacher only serves as a recorder and facilitator. Let the kids do the teaching.
Students are required to "build a snowman" using geometric figures.
