Shapes All Around Us: A Digital Photography Lesson for PreK - Kindergarten
This lesson is intended for PreK-Kindergarten students to build and expand upon their knowledge of shapes. Instead of the usual method of showing the class a shape, pointing out its attributes and finally naming the shape, this series of lessons allows students discover the attribute of shapes and classify them on their own.
Prior to start these activities, it is extremely helpful to read books by photographer Tana Hoban. These books focus on finding shapes in everyday settings.
