About the store
I have been teaching since 2004. The primary focus of my experience has been working with inner city youth who have behavior difficulties. I have worked with students who are diagnosed with an emotional disability. I have worked with students who choose to be disruptive. I have worked with students who come from good homes, tough homes, rich homes, poor homes, generational gang homes, recent to the US homes, etc. I have taught GED classes for adults as well as provided tutoring for all academics and technology. Teaching style

I like to allow for a lot of choice and power with my students. I feel the more ownership and responsibility they feel the more they will accomplish. Additionally, I feel that students should always be given the opportunity to succeed, enough room to fail, and safe place to fix their mistakes.

• Presenting Special Education expectations and interactive professional development for the entire staff • Creating special education teacher support documents to maintain consistency and accuracy of special education services for new employees • Successful management and performance reviews of classroom assistants. • Cambridge Who’s Who in Education (2006, 2007) member. • Provided supervision and mentorship for three interns. • Mentored and supervised one student teacher • Mentored and trained three new teachers • Co-development of successful behavior management program to positively reinforce and encourage desired behaviors to be used with students diagnosed with an emotional disability • Technology Core Committee member – administration appointed group of teachers to be trained on new technology, to disperse knowledge among co-workers, and to assist with integration of technology into classrooms • Participation on committee to support and disperse information pertaining to the new district teacher evaluation system • Active participation in Response to Intervention (RTI) system implementation • Participation on the committee to create a Positive Behavior Intervention System for the individual campus and eventually district wide using the Response to Intervention framework
