Here are pools of questions I use in class to get my students talking! Use them to interview students, let them interview each other, as speaking tests or quizzes, divide them up into task cards, or my favorite, use them with numbered jenga blocks. I bought a few cheap jenga games, split each tower in half to end up with 30 blocks, and I numbered each block. I pass out a paper, and a bag of blocks. Then students just play regular jenga, but each time they draw a block, they have to properly answ

El Banquillo
El Banquillo is an opportunity for students to demonstrate to the teacher their ability to answer a variety of questions in Spanish. Students are given a list of 20 questions in advance to prepare for, and then during an assigned class time, students are interviewed for a short period of time by the teacher. Students have a limited amount of time to answer as many questions as they can from the pool, and the grade is assigned accordingly.

Play the simple card game 'war' with this accompanying powerpoint. All you need to supply is the deck of cards for each team or player. Students will speak the target language while playing and will give definitions of the words.
Use this as a tool to get students up and moving about the room while speaking Spanish! I have students ask as many people they can to get a sampling of answers on this survey. We sometimes stop there, or we then discuss and chart our responses. If I really want to expand the activity, we then write about what people said and the results.
This powerpoint can be used in any of the ways below to keep you students engaged. The topic is all preterite verbs!
We use this powerpoint in various ways depending on the class and the day:
1. We play around the world (2 students stand up and compete to conjugate the verb correctly. Winner moves to the next challenger, and all students record their answers)
2. Students write on whiteboards and hold their answers up for me to check.
3. Student play against each other, conjugating the verbs an
After teaching the alphabet and basic letter sounds to my students, I use this power point to have them practice spelling words. In partners, one student faces the screen, and the other has their back to the screen. Student one then spells the word, and student two writes it down. Then student two tries to pronounce the word. Switch jobs and then continue the game! Instructions on last slide.
Print these card sets on card stock, and let students draw a noun and adjective. Then, just make them agree! (Ex: Card 1- mi Card 2- los hermanos -->I say, mis hermanos)
This is a Word Doc, so you can easily sub in your current or past vocab if you don't love my choices.
Use these to prompt conversation between partners or groups. 14 sets of questions at a review level. I used these in Spanish 2/3/4 to start my class for the first 5 minutes.
