About the store
Hello! I have been working in the behavioral health field since 2010. Along with being a licensed social worker (PA), I am currently employed as a Mental Health Professional. I provide counseling and therapeutic services (individual, group and family therapy) to children and their families aged 3 to 5 years old with emotional and behavioral problems in a transitional program. I am also currently employed as a Mobile Therapist. In this position I provide counseling and therapeutic services to children, adolescents and their families with emotional and behavioral needs in home and community locations. Previous professional positions I held include Therapeutic Staff Support (TSS) and a Direct Support Professional (DSP). As a TSS, I provided and implemented one-on-one therapeutic support (modeling, role play, feeling identification, positive practice, etc…) to children and adolescents in areas of social, behavioral and emotional needs that have been identified by the client, family, interdisciplinary team and in individualized treatment plans. As a DSP, I served on an interdisciplinary team providing direct care and support (personal hygiene, activities of daily living, self-management, etc…) to individuals with mild to severe intellectual developmental disabilities, physical challenges and medical issues in a residential type facility and adult day program. My field experience includes home health and hospice care as a medical social worker intern and a mental health treatment specialist intern for adolescents.

Teaching style

I would describe my teaching style as cognitive with an emphasis on facilitation to promote self-learning. I firmly believe "blanket approaches" and "1 size fits all" strategies do not apply to learning and education and whether it's behavior management or academics.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Graduate School: Member of the Honor Society for Social Work and the National Graduate Honor Society   Undergraduate: Dean’s list, inducted into 3 honor societies, recipient of the Lynn Bankos Memorial Scholarship, Level II certified as a College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) Peer Tutor and received the Act 101 Award for High Academic Achievement and Service

My own education history

I have a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree with a specialization in behavioral Health from Marywood University. I also have a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree that includes a double major in sociology and criminal justice from King’s College.

Additional biographical information

I have a wonderful (I know I'm a little biased) fiance and 2 classy black cats. In my spare time I enjoy reading and playing on a women's volleyball league.
