Show your students that algebra and trigonometry can be close to their heart. These are .gif images of Valentines drawn from Math Equations. The equation for each heart is written at the top of the Valentines. There are six different equations that produce a heart shape. Some of the Valentines have been drawn as Fractals. The images have a transparent background, so they can be drawn on top of text or other pictures in a Word document. Black and white versions are included so they can be
The Dragon Fractal Lab is a computer program that draws fractals of the Dragon Fractal type. Students adjust the fractal parameters to draw many interesting fractals. They are encouraged to experiment with the parameters to create fractals of their own. A Microsoft Word lab book is included that guides the students through the process and includes several preset examples for them to explore. Junior High and High School Math students and Computer Lab students should enjoy making these fractal
A 1-page handout showing the math equation for drawing a 3-leaf and 4-leaf shamrock using polar coordinates. A graph of the equation using the Cartesian Coordinate System is included for comparison of the two coordinate systems. Students can use the equations in Excel, a graphing calculator, or other software and play around with the formulas. Instructions are not included.
This is a software app in which students create fractal Christmas Trees and decorate them. Math equations are provided for each component of the tree and decorations. An easy user interface allows students of all ages to draw a tree and decorate it, then save their creation to an image file for printing or adding to another document.
The sample tree pictures show some of the hundreds of possibilities for tree design.
