Word problems for slope intercept form. Used to work on writing equations, finding the value of the independent variable given a dependent variable value, finding the dependent variable's value that makes the two equations equal, and justifying an answer using mathematical evidence. This assignment can also be used in connection with graphing slope intercept form and discussing the intersection point of two lines being the solution.

I usually use this activity for students to explore the internet and come up with their own notes on parallel and perpendicular lines. I will let students use their phones or computers to look up definitions and examples and fill in the boxes with whatever they find. Then I will have them share their findings with a partner, then with the class. This can also be used as a review, formative assessment, or quiz after a lesson about parallel and perpendicular lines.
