This 12 page 2-3 lesson package leads the studetns through the basics of graphing linear equations (quadrants, x and y-intercepts, slopes, slope-y intercept equation and identifying linear vs non-linear equations). It is meant to be a self discovery lesson with minimal guidance from the instructor.

Expansions and Compressions of Functions
This 10 page 2 hour lesson allows students to discover the effects of a and b values (vertical and horizontal expansion/compressions) on a variety of functions. Also attached are two worksheets that review the concepts and a summary, complete with visuals, of the lesson. This lesson requires minimal instruction as it is a self discovery activity for the kids.
