Unit Price - Calculating the Best Buy Project
This group project is fun, and solidifies the concept of Unit Price/Calculating the Best Buy into a student's skillset better than any other activity I have used. It is designed to last 2-3 50-minute class periods but I left it in Microsoft Word format so that you can easily edit it to meet your needs.
This could be done individually, but is designed to be done in small groups of 3-4 students.

Parent Function / Function Family Graphing Reference or Handout - Editable!
This Microsoft Word file is completely editable so that you can add your own title or change the "Unit Numbers" (or remove them!) if you wish. It includes a list of parent functions found in the Algebra II curriculum, with graphs for each function. I use this as a preview of the Algebra II curriculum or as a review to remind students of the shapes of different functions.
Could be used in a "stations" setup with students moving around the room to rotate to each function station.

My own education history
BS in Computer Science, graduating Cum Laude in 3.5 years from Middle Tennessee State University. Course of study included 39 hours of mathematics credit, with an emphasis in statistics. A member of the initial group of Teach Tennessee Fellows, I also have some graduate credits earned in both Education as well as Business Administration.

My most outstanding life accomplishment, only by the grace of God, is wife of Brad for 23 years and excessively proud mother of three girls.
About the name "Debbie's Lemonade Stand"... In late summer of 2013, I was diagnosed with State IIb Breast Cancer and proceeded to have a double mastectomy with reconstruction, 6 rounds of harsh chemotherapy and a full year of other IV chemotherapy. Three days before my last chemo treatment, I fell and severely broke my right ankle in two places. God used what should have been a tragic part of my life to bring a blessing, because post-chemo weeks and those weeks recovering from a broken ankle, gave me lots of time to create my Teachers Pay Teachers store with all the things I had been dreaming of creating in my nine years of teaching. Therefore the name: Debbie's Lemonade Stand... because God truly can make Lemonade from Lemons!
