This is a basic step by step guide to teach students how to focus a microscope. The steps are very simple and easy to follow. I used to shrink it on the copier and hand out to students as a half sheet. In addition, I laminate about 10 and hang copies at each microscope station for students to reference as needed. This should download as a ONE PAGE DOCUMENT.
This handout includes a microscope to label most of the parts. The image is clear and easy to read. You can use it as a study tool for students or even a quick quiz.
The back of the handout includes:
- matching definitions to 8 parts/functions of the microscope
- 7 statements on the steps to focusing a microscope...students put the steps in the corrrect order
You can edit everything as needed based upon how you teach mircroscope use in your classroom.
A great study tool to help students see the different type of equations they will need to know how to solve in the beginning of Algebra 1.
1) one step equations: multiply by the reciprocal or divide (5 problems)
2) one step equations: add or subtract (5 problems)
3) two step equations: add or subtract first then multiply by the reciprocal or divide (10 problems)

Teaching style
I love to create and teach with different types of learning tools. Textbooks are boring and many students do not find success with them. I have always made my own worksheets, foldables, reference sheets, and a variety of study guides. I am currently working on developing resources for AP CSA and AP CSP.
