Differentiated Greater Than and Less Than Practice with Gingerbread
This file has four different practice sheets, each with three different levels so your students can practice greater than and less than. Two of the sheets use the symbols, one focuses on "more" and one focuses on "less". In addition, there is an activity suggestion to do to introduce the greater than/less than symbol.

Make Your Own Building Tens Flash Cards
This file is designed for students to make their own flashcards so they can practice all the ways to make the number ten. First, students color or "Bingo Dab" the dots that are already on the card. Then they draw and color or "Bingo Dab" the dots needed to make the ten. Next they cut apart the back side of the flashcards (teachers can choose the one(s) that suit their students' abilities the best), they cut apart the front sides, and then glue the fronts to the backs. Differentiated Building 10 Math Center
This math center is made up of cards that have colored dots on them inside of ten frames. The students place counters (printable ones are included) on the cards to make the tens and then they record them on a recording sheet. The recording sheets vary; for each ten frame on the sheet:

Building Numbers Slide
This is a little craft that you can make in math that students can use to build number combinations. Be sure to make it once before doing it with the kids so you get the feel of it. It seems a little difficult at first, but it really isn't hard. I suggest laminating the strips of paper first. Actually, glue two different colors of paper together, laminate, and then use the paper cutter to cut the strips. I have twenty years of experience at four different schools. Currently I work at a school in Johns Creek, GA, which is a Fulton County School.
Teaching style
My heart is in kindergarten and I try to make learning as fun as I can. I believe there is a place for worksheets, but I don't believe all learners do best with them so I try to use a variety of activities instead. I believe in differentiation, but I also believe that it is a tremendous amount of work, so I try to create things with options for differentiation. I also like to create things that are fun to make but have a learning purpose as well. Where I work naps and free choice center time no longer exist. I am trying to keep having fun while learning alive along with cute projects.

I've been nominated for Teacher of the Year several times, have been a finalist several times, but I have not earned the title yet.
My own education history
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Southern Illinois University, and a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Central Michigan University. The latter I received from a satelite program here in Georgia.
Additional biographical information
I spend a lot of my personal time doing work for school, but I try to get in some shoe shopping, baking, and time with friends as well.
