Scientist - What is a Scientist?
Fully scripted lesson in the 5E Lesson Framework introducing students to work of scientists using hands-on experience and writing. Framework includes: Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate and Evaluate student learning using inquiry.
Students explore, observing an object from the school yard or provided by teacher, and record observation in a Science Notebook (printable provided).
Students learn the different types of scientists and extend learning with a matching game.

Integrating Math and Science, Discovering Viscosity
A one-session lesson where students answer the question, "How does temperature affect the flow of ketchup?"
Students design Ketchup Races to answer the question. Students will measure distance traveled, rate of flow and use a protractor to tilt surface to required degrees. They will collect data and make a claim based on the data/evidence.
Includes Investigation Task Card for groups, Materials Chart, Data Collection Chart and ideas for evaluation including examples.

Teaching style
I work with students and teachers using inquiry-based methods in hands-on, minds-on learning. Students think, investigate, record, then share, communicating thinking and learning in small and whole group settings.
