This lesson was created to introduce three types of figurative language to students - simile, metaphor, and personification. The comprehensive lesson requires students to record simple notes and examples, practice sorting sample sentences that include figurative language, and ultimately, create their own examples of each figurative language type. This lesson provides an overview of Earth's cycles, including day and night, seasons, moon phases, tides, life cycles, and the water cycle. It would ideally be used to introduce Earth's patterns and cycles, but it could also be a great review tool! Lots of flexibility for classroom use! Assess your students' knowledge of Ancient Mali via this Pre/Post-Assessment and corresponding 15 page Powerpoint. Authentic maps and pictures, along with interesting facts, help to maintain student engagement. All answers to the assessment are in the presentation, so students will have to pay close attention in order to get all of the answers correct! :)

The file includes a 14 page presentation that reviews types of storms, weather instruments, meteorologists, and weather safety. Also included is a corresponding graphic organizer which allows students to record what they learn in the presentation.
