Do Math Better

This is a writing assignment to get students to understand the concept of a solution to a system of linear equations. Students are asked to write a speech to the systems of equations as the solution to the system. The topic they choose to write about is up to them. It includes directions, a rubric and 2 examples.

Students solve the 2 step inequalities and fill in the crossword with their solutions. Worksheet and answer sheet included.

This is a lesson I use to introduce the definition of function. It is one of my students favorite lessons, and gets the students out of their seats and involved. Students must solve different equations and then fill in the letters of the proper solution to figure out the secret word.
