Looking for a way for students to practice identifying exponential graphs? This cut and paste activity (or digital mystery picture) can help students graph exponential functions by matching equations to their correct graph! What's included:1. Cut and Paste Option: Students will cut out 8 equations and paste them under their corresponding graphs. 2. Digital Mystery Picture (Self-Checking!): This digital activity will be completed in Google Sheets. Students will use an answer bank of 9 equati

Looking for a low prep way for students to practice identifying even and odd functions? In this card sort activity ( drag and drop) students will identify 15 equations and 6 graphs as representing even, odd, or neither functions. This activity can be completed as a printable card sort or a as drag and drop activity in PowerPoint or Google Slides. Please note: Students who complete the activity digitally will find the moveable functions on the sides of the slides. If students do not see

Looking for a hands on way for students to practice fining inverses of functions? This card sort has ten functions (equations) for which students have to algebraically find the inverse and match the cards. Most problems are linear (varying in complexity) and a few basic quadratics (like x^2/100). For the printable card sort, students will cut out the functions and inverses to match them together. Tip: Print on card stock and laminate to use year after year! For the digital card sort (d

Experience

I have been teaching secondary mathematics since 2015. I have most experience in teaching Foundations of Algebra, Algebra I, and Algebra II. I have taught these courses at the remedial, co-taught, on-level, and honors levels.

Teaching style

I really love activities where students can self check their work. I think this helps catch misconceptions early on, helps students know what questions to ask, and provides instant feedback. Self-checking activities also give the teacher the opportunity to more easily know who's got it and who needs more help. I also love to help my students stay organized. Foldables help students keep up with the notes in class by providing an outline. Additionally, they can use their foldables to build their interactive notebook that can be used throughout the course.
