This is a complete lesson for rational functions. It includes guided notes with an answer key, homework with an answer key, and a quiz (coming soon).
Students will be able to find horizontal and vertical asymptotes, describe end behavior, find x- and y-intercepts, and determine if and where any holes in the graph exist. The goal of the lesson is to accurately sketch a graph of any rational function.
Students should have experience factoring quadratics and factoring by grouping. A full previ
This reviews or introduces the basic vocabulary for a quadratic function: standard and vertex forms, minimums and maximums, axis of symmetry, domain, range, x- and y-intercepts, and parabola.
This can be used in an interactive notebook or stand-alone. I don't fully do interactive notebooks for my class but I use these occasionally when I feel they would be helpful.
I am open to modifying to meet your needs. Email me at ldollar@trinitycatholichigh.org with your requests.
This is designed for use with a Pre-Calculus class but can be used with any class studying the unit circle and trigonometry. The students are asked to find the sine, cosine, and tangent of the point typically associated with a unit circle. Students should be familiar with finding trig ratios by plotting points and using reference angles and the related triangles. The term "reference angle" is not used, however. Then students plot the points and discover the unit circle. I use Desmos to plot
Use these cards to create instant discussion groups. You can groups students by the color, letter, or number on the cards. No groups will contain the same people! Have the students swap the cards with one another and you can mix them up again.
These cards are designed to be used with classes of size 12-27. Depending on the size of the class and the teacher directions, you will have groups of size 2-3, 3-4, or 4-5.
You will need either a color printer with double-sided printing capabiliti

Teaching style
I try to make connections and promote a deeper understanding of the concepts. Sometimes that means I direct teach, other times I use interactive notebook pages, or technology. I try to find the best way to reach everyone.
