I use this with my ESL students to give them some new vocabulary to describe people and objects. Here are some ways you can use it: After handing it out, ask them to describe someone (themselves, a friend or a character) with a few sentences (also using the vocabulary seen before, such as body parts, so they can do a physical description), and then same thing for an object. The more experienced students can also use comparative and superlative.Once they know them well, you can check their compreh

This Google Slides allows you to teach your students the vocabulary of the house in Spanish with the main rooms (dining room, living room, bedroom, bathroom, study, garden) and objects (chair, table, door, window, bed, shower, bath, etc...). Animations allow you to show the pictures without the vocabulary first. After each slide introducing new vocabulary, there is a slide with an exercise of translation from Spanish to the native language, so students can reuse the vocabulary. At the end, if yo

Are your students back from vacation or soon to go on holiday? It's time for them to describe their plans, review the vocabulary, and train their writing expression! You may give them specific instructions (number of lines, tense, etc...) depending on their level. I like to make them complete the address and stamp as well, with some creativity if they feel like it.

Movie Review - Study of one + write your own

This is the third activity in my unit about movies. See the one about the History of Hollywood and the one about Making a Movie. This contains a study of the movie " To all the boys I've loved before" based on the trailer, summary and reviews. The students give their opinion. The second part is a form for the students to try their hand at writing their own review of a movie or TV show of their choice. It can be used for both ESL students (in which case, I recommend it only for 7th grade and

This file contains two texts related to zoos. The first one uses ten words specific to them (such as ' keeper', ' enclosure', etc...). The second one is more related to animals' anatomy with eleven words (such as ' fur', ' feather', ' paw'...). This was created for my ESL French students, as such the exercises are translations from French to English using the new vocabulary given, and the vocabulary list is from English to French. Feel free to use this as a base for any other language. It ca

Are your students back from vacation or soon to go on holiday? It's time to review the appropriate vocabulary! After reviewing it or with the help of a lexicon, let them complete this so they can express their own habits. They can write simple sentences in the first part. In the suitcase, they can either write the name of the objects (in whichever language), draw them, or glue pictures of them. You choose the instructions depending on your students' level!

Following my lesson on the history of Hollywood, I prepared this small activity to explain how a movie is made (I used references from wikipedia to do so) and to allow them to make their own based on their preferences. This combines writing comprehension and writing expression. It can be used for both ESL students (in which case, I recommend it only for 7th grade and above, check the contents to see if it's right for your students) and native speakers (in which case it can be used at the en

A logic game I made for my ESL students after teaching them animals and jobs vocabulary, so that it combines both. I expect it can also be used for younger native speakers. A template is included so that you can write your own version with the vocabulary you want to work on with your students. Note: " The Wildeast" font used in that document is from trustha on Creative Market.

Teaching style

I adapt to each student I tutor. Most often, they learn best with games and fun activities, so I try to find some or create some when nothing is available.
