I created this for math stations. My learners walked around the room with a baggie of the measurement tools listed on the sheet. They can measure items they find and compare the differences in measurement based on what non-standard tool they use.
We also did this lesson in conjunction with solid, liquids and gases so the first page has the objects titled as "solid" and then the 2nd pages has it titled "object".
I created this mini 120's chart so each learner could keep it at their desk. In the past I have taped them to their desks, other years I have just had them put them in their supply boxes. Very convenient for them to pull out when needed.
This comes 4 to a sheet.
This is a small group and whole group activity you can do with your learners to help reinforce the concept of open number lines.
The activity includes:
directions for the activity
cards for making the number lines
Kids learn best by moving and often there is a still a need to develop gross motor skills. I have purchased for my classroom a small, foam practice balance beam. You can buy a $15 foam beam that is easy to store on Amazon here: http://a.co/fOzXip2
This is one of the things they may choose for “morning work” stations. To keep them on task and not playing, I wrote these balance beam task cards. There are 36 task cards total as well as a few blanks one to write some of your own.
I hope you find
These are flashcards for combinations to 10 with the missing addend.
I copied on cardstock and laminate to be able to reuse. Would also be an easy thing to send home with learners for them to cut up and practice at home.
After you have taught your learners how to use a protractor, this is a great activity to practice measuring angles! I copy them front to back and give them a choice about which 2 they want to do. Then they letter off the “stars” to name them. They use the recording sheet to name the angles with the letters, write in the measurement, and record what kind of angle it is!
Put in a math station for Earth Day.
Roll the dice, add up the dots and color the picture.
Could also be used as Earth Day adding BUMP.
Roll the dice, add the numbers, cover the answer with a counter. Counters can be bumped if there is only 1 counter covering. If there are 2 of the same, it's frozen.
