My science videos were featured as part of a summer program on the Pensacola News Journal's website, and I have Youtube videos on making and using red cabbage indicator.

Teaching style

I believe in extensive experiential learning. However, I also believe we teach by showing, modeling, and explaining. We have to give students opportunities to make mistakes so we can find their errors and we have to let them puzzle over problems so they are ready for answers. I have bits of Montessori, humanist, and constructivist in my style. I believe that writing across the curriculum is critically important and should begin as soon as students can read and write. I like project-based learning, but I believe it needs to be structured and guided so that it does not turn into a craft project.
