Chemistry - Thermodynamic Data Chart

This is a list of thermodynamic data taken from seven different textbooks and compiled into a single list. I made this list according to the first element symbol in the compound. When different textbooks would differ on the correct value I would use the more recent one for the chart. This has been updated every two years since it was first created in 2002. Feel free to edit to meet the needs of your classroom.

This is a list of topics created by units my students are responsible for mastering throughout the year. A mastery of these topics along with working practice problems showing the setup and grading mechanisms of the AP exam should prepare the students to receive a passing score on the AP Chemistry exam. This also serves as a list of topics students to help prepare students for each exam taken in class.

This is a basic version of the periodic table showing symbols with no names of elements. All masses have been rounded to two decimal places. This is the basic chart I allow students to use on exams. The names of the elements are not listed to force the students to know the symbols of the elements beforehand.

Chemistry - Solubility Guidelines for Water

This is a basic list of solubility rules for chemistry students. This list has been created from four different chemistry texts so your text may or may not list ions in this manner. I wanted to combine the different type of lists from different texts into a single list that would be more correct than any of the textbooks would be on their own. At the bottom of the page I have included a list of complex ions used for the AP chemistry exam.

This is a version of the lab report rubric to grade formal lab reports written according to the lab report format I show them. I have this in front of me as a reference as I grade reports to allow me to show consistency while grading reports – especially when taking more than one sitting to complete the grading process. This is also given to the students so they know what I will be looking for as I grade their reports. The number format for the grades are skewed a little to show the gradin

This is a version of the lab report handout I use to show students how I want lab reports written. Different teachers have different thoughts on sections of the lab notebook and what may be required so this is not a one-size-fits-all format. If you have no basic format of your own, use this and build what works best for your courses.

Chemistry - Cations with Multiple Charges (Type II Cations) Handout

This is a handout showing cations with multiple types of charges. This list is by no means complete. Some textbooks call these types of ions Type II cations. The systematic name of the ion is also given.
