This is a unit of work designed for high ability students in Grade 1-3. It consists of comprehension and interpretive activities associated with the short novel Paws off, CheddarFace! The resource also contains a teacher booklet, with responses already entered, allowing a parent/teachers aid or other person not familiar with the text to supervise the student or students. It is very suited to an independent book study, or differentiated book groups during reading time.

Readers Theatre brings to life a story through class members taking on characterisation. Ch 9 of Fantastic Mr Fox is the dramatic point when the starving fox family are debating whether to break free from their den. This chapter is rewritten and colour coded ready for printing, and has up to 8 characters. Once students are use to using a Reader Theatre format, they can often perform directly from the text of their book.

This free resource uses the Pat Hutchins picture book The Doorbell Rang to explore factors in the numbers 1-36.
