In this PowerPoint place value models are used to show students how to write two digit numbers in expanded form.

This lesson demonstrates three different strategies for finding a number that is 10 more, 1 more, 10 less and 1 less than a given number. This presentation uses place value models and a hundreds chart. It also demonstrates the use of basic addition. I always like to model several strategies so my students can pick which strategy works best for them. I hope you enjoy this lesson!

In this interactive PowerPoint presentation, students are introduced to Mr. and Mrs. Alligator, who happen to be very hungry! The alligators are presented with two groups of place value blocks, and students have to guess which way the alligator will go. At the end their is an interactive quiz in which students are provided feedback whether their answer is incorrect or correct. This PowerPoint is filled with animation that will captivate your students' attention.

I created this review game for my 1st Grade students to review concepts taught in Topic 9, Comparing and Ordering Numbers to 100, in the Common Core enVisionMATH series. I used Qwizdom Response System remotes with my students. If you don't have a classroom response system, you can use buzzers, or have students hold up fingers for their choice. This activity can be used after reading the story Boots for Beth. There is a rondo that can be taught to students to help recall the sequence of events in the story. Then students can drag boots onto a ten frame for a math connection! Students will complete number sentences to match their ten frames.
