Graduated from Rhode Island College in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. Started teaching in 2007 in Las Vegas, Nevada. While teaching, graduated from an online program in 2015 from Grand Canyon University with a Master of Curriculum and Instruction: Reading with an Emphasis in Elementary Education.
