Engaging sound webquest in which students are directed to sites and asked to interact with the site then answer questions. Topics include pitch, reflection, absorption, energy, speed of sound, and how temperature affects sound. Totally self directed and easy to follow. I try to use as little paper as possible so there's no fancy clip art at top, just valuable and concise learning
Perfect for introduction or reinforcement of 5.MD.4 and 5.MD.5. Complete step, by step instructions with two different student sheets. Students use cubes to crate various volumes. They recognize that once they find the area of the base you can either add or multiply up to discover the volume. Can be used for direct instruction and then break into cooperative learning groups. Simple, user friendly plan all ready to go!
My students love making these booklets because they can add their own ideas and illustrations to it. The first couple pages give definitions and examples of simile, metaphor, hyperbole, personification and alliteration. The students and or teachers then choose further topics and then create figurative language statements about them. I love this book because I can choose topics that focus on our class content at the time. It is simple and ongoing. This booklet can be used throughout the year
Here's a simple chart that my students add to their resource binder or interactive notebooks for determining divisibility. This really comes in handy when reducing fractions as well as checking division.
