This phonics activity reinforces students' ability to blend short -ea words. This can be displayed on an overhead (electronic or paper form) or printed out and done in centers. It gives students a starter word "head," and asks them to change the "h" to a "dr" and asks them the new word (dread), then the first "d" to a "b" and asks them the new word (bread), and so on. The file includes letter tiles so students can cut and paste if done on paper.
