Wanted to share my different practices that I have used for swimming. IF you are a coach, athlete, or parent; here are some practices that you may want to use. Great activity that I used with my 9th grade Physical Science classes to really drive home the concept of Ionic Bonding. This is a small template that I have used before exams to better allow students to gauge their learning. It allows them to see if they are able to truly answer the learning targets asked. It suggests students rank their own learning on a scale of 1-5 ( 1 needing the most help / 5 meaning they are a professor). This is a great activity I do in the beginning of the year. I explain to student that they will be playing "I Spy" in class with their partners - but their descriptions have to be qualitative and quantitative observations. It is something that they already know how to do and can relate to -- but now we are adding a more "scientific language" to something they already know! This was a short worksheet I do with my students to help them identify different parts of the metric system. There are 3 things to identify: the Unit, what the unit measures, and the name. The unit should be the abbreviation used. For instance, if it is talking about kilometers ... the unit is (km).

I used this when adapting to online COV19 resources - It was a very basic 5 question prompt that has students read over the Safe Water Drinking Act (SWDA). Last Question is an open-ended response for students. Answers are supplied in Red at the bottom of the page.
