About the store
I have been in education for 25+ years. I am currently an Instructional Coach on a K-3 elementary campus. My classroom teaching experience is in 3rd grade (10 years) and 4th grade (5 years). Because of my current position, I have gained a lot of experience in teaching K-2 as well.. I have learned that I love the younger elementary kids as much as the older ones. I spend most of my day working with and for teachers. We collaborate on instructional strategies, the whole child, and targeted instruction. I tell the teachers I work with that my goal is to help make their very difficult job easier. I am also the RTI, 504, and building test coordinator. Therefore, I also spend a lot of time working on and planning interventions and test prep.

Teaching style

My teaching style is eclectic. My style tends to shift according to what my students need. I usually start with the gradual release model, but will shift to more student exploration if the opportunity presents itself. I like a structured classroom with high engagement, meaning that I work hard to set rules and procedures so my classroom runs smoothly. I believe this is extremely important because time is precious.

Additional biographical information

I am married and have 2 children. All 3 of these individuals keep me very busy but I love every minute of being a wife and mom. We all like to watch sports (both kids play multiple sports) and just hang out. We are avid Arkansas Razorback fans. GO HOGS! Empty nest will not be my friend. My husband and I like to cook and binge watch tv. My best stress reliever is the treadmill with a good chick flick on the Hallmark channel.
