About the store
I've worked in a variety of settings at a variety of grade levels. I started my career in preschool, where I worked for six years. I also taught 5th grade in an upper-middle class suburban community as well as an urban charter school that served a Muslim population. Since then, I have been in my current district, Ann Arbor. Here I taught 1st grade and 4th grade for 14 years before transitioning into a math coach position.
For 7 years, I also worked for The Princeton Review, a test preparation company. For The Princeton Review, I taught and tutored for the ACT, SAT, GMAT, GRE, and MCAT verbal tests. I trained prospective teachers for the ACT and GMAT. I also wrote content for their ACT, Early Edge, and GMAT materials.

In this episode, when the class sees Horace Scope on the Star Shopping Network, they decide to buy Dorothy Ann a real twinkling star for her birthday. Before doing so, they blast off in the bus to inspect the merchandise. They visit a young star, a middle-aged star, and decide that the third and last star is the one they want to buy. Teaching style
My focus is on small-group instruction with flexible groupings based on data. I try to incorporate authentic learning experiences and inquiry-based investigations.
My own education history
I attended undergraduate and graduate school at Michigan State University. My graduate degree is in Teaching and Curriculum with a concentration in instructional technology.
I have been through Math Recovery training for: AVMR 1, AVMR 2, Fractions, MRSp1 (Math Recovery Specialist 1).
