Use these two pages of notes with unit 6 of Everyday Math 4. Use them to start the lesson, as a practice problem, or to assess and check. The two pages of notes includes the main topics of the unit.
I use this hands on lesson to help students understand statistical questions more in depth by putting it into practice (asking others questions and determining if the question is statistical or not). Print the first two pages front to back and cut in half (each student will get a half sheet that is printed front and back).
There are a total of 18 missing addend story problems. The first 6 have the sign they need to make the number sentence that matches the story problem. The following 12 have the number sentence set up but with no mathematical sign, students have to write the sign themselves.

This way parents are not only aware of the child's grade but also the notes and work the student has done to prepare for the test. Then I keep for my own records in case when parent teacher conferences roll around we need to discuss more about a student.
