I use this hands on lesson to help students understand statistical questions more in depth by putting it into practice (asking others questions and determining if the question is statistical or not). Print the first two pages front to back and cut in half (each student will get a half sheet that is printed front and back).
I used this 32 slide presentation for unit 4 lesson 9 or 10 to introduce how inequalities are represented on a number line. Check the precentor notes for tips.
Use this assignment to have students write their own story problems according to an algebraic equation. Students can solve the problem as well. There are 12 total that equations range from easy to hard.
Split the class into four groups (or if you edit this document and make more questions you will have more groups). Give each group the same data sheet / same question. Have the group practice asking their question to each other and recording the data. Then explain that everyone in the class will walk around, ask their question to the other people in class that they haven't asked yet and record the data. EM4 6th Grade Everyday Math Unit 5 Notes - fill out before, during, or after a lesson for students to refer to when completing assignments or for reference when taking the test. Students can keep them to refer to when completing math boxes throughout the year as well.
Print the document. Cut the document so that there are 6 problem cards. Split students into 6 groups. Give each group one problem. Have students put 1-6 on a piece of paper. Have them write an inequality for each situation on the problem card. Make sure they write the answer on their paper on the number the corresponds with their card. After about five minutes, have tables rotate cards till all tables have written an inequality for all each card. You could also tape up the problems aroun

This math center is used to practice or review adding and subtracting money. Students have to problem solve how many items they can buy with a certain amount of money. Print a few copies and put in a clear sleeve. You could also put out fake money for students to handle and make the station more interactive.
