Want to review adding and subtracting large numbers? This activity/assignment is a great way for kids to be creative and practice this skill at the same time. Students will purchase large-ticket items for a celebrity of their choice and then add up the costs. Periodically there are discounts to be applied, so they can practice subtracting large numbers too.

This Place Value Game kept my grade 7's entertained for hours! Because it is completely random, all students felt they could participate without judgment of their knowledge. It can be used in a socially-distanced way or in groups.
