Seven Elements of Music (Bulletin Board)

This is just a cute version of my seven elements of music. I tried to word everything as kid-friendly as I could. Here are a few ideas for use of this product: 1. You could cut out and then you can mount them on colorful construction paper/card stock and laminate them for a vertical wall decoration. 2: You could slap them up on a bulletin board on computer paper. Easy and effective. This is in PDF format. I use it in my own classroom as a part of my "Listening and Responding to Music" unit i

Rhythm Copying Worksheet (in 4/4)

This worksheet is "Conversational Solfege" (Feierabend) style: students read rhythms in 4/4 and copy them into the space below the example. Then, I have added a checklist underneath that students can check off after they complete it. (They give themselves a grade out of 5 in the "s" column and then I give them a grade out of 5 in the "t" column). Pre-teaching of the parts of a music note: notehead, stem, flag, beam. This could either work as a part of a sub plan, an activity at a center, or

This is a musical listening guide that I use with my 4th Grade Students and a substitute. It's relatively simple: I have grayed out boxes that students aren't supposed to write in. They write and color in the white boxes. Students write one or two words in each empty white box. White boxes that already have information provided, students can shade or color the applicable terms. It's not an exhaustive list (for sure). I figured I would share. I find it useful when we go through dynamics and stude

It's just a sheet I made for my recorder students to use as a reference. I won't let them write the note names in on their recorder books (which makes them pretty angry) but, we've gone over note naming so often that most of them are pretty solid on their skills. I uploaded it as a .docx - but it messed up all the formatting. If you want the docx, just send me a message. This is a pdf.

Quarter note and Eighth note Composition (Cut and Glue Activity)

This is a quarter note and eighth note cut and glue activity. I use it with my second graders at the beginning of the year; however, it is also a great activity to use with a substitute. I wrote "rhythm syllables" instead of specifying a specific rhythm syllable to use. Let me know if this works out for you and please feel free to leave some feedback. :). (It's pseudo-composition).

These are just cute sharp and flat signs I made for my pencil containers. I didn't include borders so you can draw and cut them in whatever shapes you want! Two pages. Thanks!
