Teaching style

Constructivist & Explicit. Start with inquiry, but only 5-10 minutes. Use this to create ownership and to gain formative information. Build a concept conceptually through hands-on, drawings, and math models. Move to representations then move to the abstract. Fluency and automaticity are important, but only after conceputal understanding is built. Teach using student work and be explicit as needed. I believe in total physical response (TPR) as support for all students.
