Hello! I started my teaching career in 2010 after graduating with a Bachelor's degree. Over the past 11 years, I have taught Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade Science/Social Studies. I also taught Special Education K-2 (resource and push-in) after receiving my Master's degree in Exceptional Children K-12 in 2012. I am currently teaching first grade in Wild and Wonderful West Virginia.
I have taught a variety of learners including English as a Second Language, 504, SPED, and at-risk students. I absolutely love teaching the foundational skills and am also attempting to find my place in the TPT world! I have so many things to share with others and love finding new things from other educators! :)

The Mitten Emergency Sub Tub Plans
Need a day off? We all deserve one, but never want to put in for a day because it is always more work than it's worth! These sub tub plans now take most of the work and make it as easy as printing off enough copies for each child, collecting 2 books to be read aloud ("The Mitten" and a book similar such as "The Hat" or "Move Over Rover"), and a class set of paper bags. I organize my sub plans in folders by subject area and place them in milk crates (which stack!). No matter how you organize

Teaching style
In my classroom, I believe that relationships come first and strongly believe in building a fun and respectful classroom community. I don't have a particular teaching style. I like to change things up whenever I see something isn't working for my students and I am very flexible when it comes to the needs of my students.
