About the store
Sure...I have an MA in English Education, but I'll be candid. I've only been teaching for four years. I know three years is only a twinkle in teacher time, but my time teaching in both college and high school in the last few years has allowed me to cultivate a teaching style that I believe is relevant in the digital and common-core era without sacrificing applicability, originality, individuality, and fun.

Romeo and Juliet–Comic Strip Review Handout

This is a fun way for students to review and conceptualized major plot developments in Romeo and Juliet. My students used this activity to put Shakespearean English into modern slang and text lingo in comic strip dialogue bubbles that were quite hilarious. Students like this activity because it gives them a chance to make the information relevant to them in a way that makes sense for a teenager. This is a great way to review and learn information and concepts.

Experience

Sure...I have an MA in English Education, but I'll be candid. I've only been teaching for four years. I know three years is only a twinkle in teacher time, but my time teaching in both college and high school in the last few years has allowed me to cultivate a teaching style that I believe is relevant in the digital and common-core era without sacrificing applicability, originality, individuality, and fun.

Teaching style

My lessons strive to meet students on their level. I enjoy creating unit plans that use formative assessments which enable the teacher to monitor his/her students' progress, yet also prepare students for the summative, culminating assessment at the end of the unit. My lessons and assessments will prepare students for end of the course tests and common-core benchmarks/assessments without making them fall asleep or become mindless drones. My personal teaching style is built on student engagement, and my lesson plans mirror that style. I'm not a worksheet teacher. I'm not a homework assigner. I'm a hands on, intense lover of learning who strives to make the love of learning contagious for all.
