This activity is a student-centered and engaging activity to have the class notice the effects of changes in dimension on perimeter and area. It is entirely self-guided. Students will fill in a table to notice and wonder about connections as the calculate the perimeter and area of two figures with changes in dimensions. I have been teaching for ten years! Most of my career has been teaching middle school mathematics in an art-focused school.

Teaching style

I teach artists of all kinds, so finding something that will engage all styles of learners and encourage the passions of my students involves being very flexible. I love to offer resources that are varied and can be customized to meet the needs of each learner to help everyone find success and enjoyment in learning.

My own education history

I graduated with a degree in Middle School Education from West Chester University. My concentrations are in math, language arts, and science. I have a M. Ed. in Administration and Educational Leadership from The Citadel.
