Water, Water, Everywhere: Facts About the Ocean Story

This story has been used on the TN Core website within the 2-3 grade span Oceans and Continents Unit. I by no means wrote any of this informational text, but simply formatted. It is used with the Water, Water, Everywhere: Facts About the Ocean Story. This is a great introduction to oceans and continents unit. Be sure to check out my FREE vocabulary powerpoint that I use as a pre-teaching tool.

Task Cards: Ocean Facts

These task cards can be used multiple ways (Scoot, I Have, Who Has, Matching, Literacy Center, etc), but can also serve as a great powerpoint review for students after finishing the informational texts Oceans, and Water, Water, Everywhere: Facts About the Ocean. I put these in a center, and have my students go back in the text, find the answer, highlight, then complete the match. You can find other resources for this unit in my TPT store!

Bats and Spiders: Writing

This PowerPoint guides students through the process of writing a compare and contrast paragraph on bats and spiders. I print this as a book for students to complete throughout the week, and at the end of the week, students take the guided sheets to write a paragraph independently. This product was designed for my 2nd and 3rd grade low ESL group. Adapt however you wish to fit your students. Happy teaching!

Vocabulary Resource for Water, Water, Everywhere

I created this powerpoint for my ESL/ELL students when reading the informational text Water, Water, Everywhere: Facts About the Ocean. I have pulled out words from the text that are key vocabulary words to study. I have used many pictures, and embedded sentence context within the powerpoint. If you would like to grab the informational text, it is used in the Oceans and Continents Unit for the 2-3 grade band of the TN Core site.

My own education history

Since I was 8 years old, working in my mother's classroom, I have been teaching. I have taught 5th and 2nd grade in the regular classroom, but now am teaching ESL/ELL for K-8 students. I have truly found my niche in working with ESL. I teach literally K-8. 8th graders in the morning, and Kindergarten beginners at the end of the day, and of course the other grades in between. It's a crazy teaching life, but I wouldn't have it any other way!
