Exceptional Math

When I introduce multiplying decimals, my students have difficulty lining up each column or row of numbers. Textbooks and other created materials do not supply room for the student to work, let alone a small grid to show their work. I created these worksheets for my 6th graders, and I you will find them useful too.

These introduction pages to solving one and two step equations are perfect for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students would need a bit more support. Each worksheet has directions and a sample problem to help the student get started. The boxes and grey lines help ease the student from feeling overwhelmed by too many tasks per page. Guided Math Notes are perfect for students who struggle with note taking. There are places for the notes to go, and students don't have to write as much. This is a 5 paged activity with 30 open ended questions I created for my students the first week of school. I will give them time to answer as many as they would like. I plan to make this a time capsule activity, meaning they will get this back at the end of the year and see how much they have changed/grown.
