Exciting Math Activities

This activity is a perfect way to check for understanding as you teach graphing to your students! Students compose a frequency table, bar graph, stem and leaf plot, line plot, and find the measures of central tendency while using candy. They also analyze the data once they have calculated it. This activity can be used as a fun way for students to practice mean, median, mode and range using their own name. Can be used any time of year as a review or to enhance your unit. I have my students write their answers on a leaf (one leaf per name), and then I create a bulletin board and display the data in my classroom. Students love looking at each other's data and discussing it while demonstrating their understanding of these important concepts.

This product is great for students to practice evaluating powers and exponents. They can do this individually, in pairs or groups and enjoy moving around the room as they practice this skill. Great for stations, test review or just for an in-class review. Students LOVE this activity!
