This lab allows students to practice fraction skills while creating a trail mix based on their results. Students work individually, in pairs or in groups to come up with the amount of each ingredient needed by solving fraction problems. They then get to enjoy eating their mix while answering reflection questions. A materials list is included, and all items are peanut free. This is one of my class's favorite activities every year!

Students will LOVE these activities! They are great for review as a whole group or in pairs and small groups. Students will practice solving one-step linear equations while practicing one of their favorite hobbies!
Covers addition, subtraction, multiplication and division along with rational numbers and rules for solving equations.
This activity can be used as a fun way for students to practice mean, median, mode and range using their own name. Can be used any time of year as a review or to enhance your unit. I have my students write their answers on a leaf (one leaf per name), and then I create a bulletin board and display the data in my classroom. Students love looking at each other's data and discussing it while demonstrating their understanding of these important concepts.
