Speeding Ticket

These speeding tickets are designed to make students aware of their tendencies to rush through their work. They notify students when they are not putting forth their best effort, without calling them out in front of the whole class. These tickets are given to students individually for whenever you see necessary. What I enjoy about these tickets is that they explain briefly what students need to work on, as well as stating what they can do to fix their errors in the future. These tickets are exp

Writing Ticket Checklist; Editable Version too!

This writing checklist is a great resource for all writing prompts, journal entries, and teaching students to revise their drafts personally. This writing checklist comes with an editable version for you to use to insert your own checklist options as well. I include information in the directions on how to insert the 'square' bullet points. Often I will reuse the same writing checklists throughout the year by laminating the colored option and allowing the students keep them in their folders!

About the store

Experience

Hello! My name is Madison Mcquiston and I have taught both 1st and 3rd grade. My heart will always belong in first grade.

Teaching style

For most of my products, you'll see lots of organization hacks that I use in the classroom. These organization hacks are used to help guide students through a whole group instruction at the beginning of the week/day and breaking off into centers throughout the remained of the lesson. For example, reading groups are always done in centers and what we are learning in ELA also applies to our reading groups. Math is done as a whole class at the beginning of the week and then breaks off into small group for the remainder of the week. Often my curriculum focuses on student interests and allowing my students to move within the classroom!

Awards & shining teacher moments

I was a member of KPD (Education honor society) & ALD (freshmen honors society). I graded from Ashland Magna Cum Laude. Throughout my first year of teaching I also was recognized at the end of the school year for the highest test scores in math throughout the entire school.

My own education history

I went to Ashland University where I graduated in 2018. I have my degree in pre-k-5th. I have a minor in online teaching as well.

Additional biographical information

My classroom theme is all things exploration and shades of teal, mint, and light blue. There is so much joy when I see these colors and I'm hoping to upload some resources I have created for my own classroom based about the 'world traveler' theme.
